Our partner, Brunswick Marine in EMEA LLC., is the European subsidiary of the Brunswick Corporation and is positioned as the largest boating company in Europe.

Specialized in the distribution of outboard (Mercury Marine)), inboard (and electric) marine engines, marine accessories, water sports accessories, the company is based in Petit-Rechain which represents the EMEA headquarters.

In EMEA Brunswick Marine is partnering with its branches spread over Europe, UAE & CIS. The company is having a large number of distributors and dealers.

The EMEA headquarter located in Petit-Rechain employs more than 230 workers. To reinforce the site, our partner is looking for 1 (m/f) HSE Manager


The objective of this function is to manage occupational safety in the EMEA region in accordance with company standards and act as the official safety advisor in Belgium, with the main objective of ensuring a safe working environment and preventing accidents.

As HSE Manager, you will develop an environmental management system by identifying, solving and mitigating environmental problems, such as pollution and waste treatment, in accordance with European/federal and regional legislation and to ensure sustainable business development.

Your responsibilities:

Ensure that orderly records are kept for all managed activities and documentary procedures.

Liaise with federal, regional and local authorities on all matters within the jurisdiction.

Arrange and co-ordinate inspections by regulatory agencies, government agencies and loss prevention agencies.

Keep up to date of existing and new laws and regulations in the areas of operation.

Responds to official requests regarding the business areas or provides support to the functional areas in responding to these requests.

Provide functional advice to employees, managers and executives in the business areas (health, safety and environmental aspects of business operations).

Conduct training programs in areas of responsibility.

Operate in accordance with company policies and procedures, in particular with regard to the quality management system, the company’s ethics program and the company’s health, safety and environmental policies.

In safety & environment

Advise on any safety and health related issues, identify safety issues through reporting, KPI’s within your business area.

In close collaboration with your direct colleague (this one is Facilities & Infrastructure oriented), you design and develop safety programs and information materials (information material, …), plans and priority procedures under your responsibility.

You will conduct safety audits, integrate the CPPT and support the division in Holland (visit once every 3 months) to deal with safety issues as well as through other European subsidiaries.

In environmental management, you will identify environmental issues by developing targeted KPIs; you will propose an environmental action plan to improve environmental management by writing annual reports.

Improve internal and external communications in the field of environmental protection and waste and anticipate risks.

Manage environmental permits, monitor environmental risk analysis.

Advise management on every environmental investment.


Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with a Safety Certification level 1 ; an experience of more than 5 years in a similar function, ideally in a Logistics/Supply Chain/Industrial environment.

Very good knowledge of procedures and policies relevant to your role, knowledge of health, safety and sustainability

General knowledge of the relevant regulatory environment, including EU directives and regulations

Good interpersonal skills with all levels of interlocutors (partnership); diplomacy, integrity and transparency, approachable, open to dialogue and active listening, proactive and internal customer oriented

Writing skills (report writing), public speaking skills, diplomacy, persuasiveness; organizational and structural skills, pedagogical skills, rigor in following up files

Technical and logical problem-solving skills, pragmatic and analytical

Experience in a unionized environment is an asset

Good working knowledge of MS Office:  computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes

Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
